After I gulped this long drink down, I calmed myself by rationalizing that he has to pay for gas and my kids will have these memories forever. (I'm a very good rationalizer-- My husband says I can rationalize just about anything, and in this case---- I have. My rationalization for $1.50 one-of-a-kind ice-cream, (which one would never be able to find at his local grocery store for a 1/3rd of the cost), is my children will have this wonderful childhood memory of holding $$$$ bills to buy ice-cream!! (Just sayin')

Ice Cream Man!!!!!!!!
I remember when I was kid and the 'Ice Cream' truck would come around to my neighborhood and how I used to think how his ice-cream was sooo much better than any ice-cream you could ever buy at a store. As a kid, I truly believed, the ice cream man had only 'one-of-a-kind' types of ice-cream. And, we HAD to buy his or we might lose our chance, in case he decides not to come back all summer--- (Very Willy Wonka style type of drama). Well, fast forward 25 years later, and now I'm the mom the kids are begging money from to buy their 'one-of-kind-ice-cream'. Unfortunately, this ice-cream is no longer .50 but rather $1.50 per treat. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????

LMAO!!! Great post! I remember the icecream man as well! Glad to see your kids get to have such a fun memory too! Even if it costs an arm and a leg! ;)
